Description

Aquarium owners have provided artificial sunlight for their tanks for many years. There are many different types and styles of day time lights, but not much attention has been given to night time lighting. In the evening, typically it is lights out and the fish, corals, invertebrates, etc., are left in the dark. However, in their natural environment, it is seldom totally dark. The moon gives off a soft glow that provides a minimal amount of light, even below the water surface. This small amount of light is important for several reasons. First, a small amount a light can help reduce stress on your tank's inhabitants. Second, by providing a small amount of "simulated" moon light, the tank is closer to the inhabitant’s natural environment. Third, you will be able to see the activity that goes on in you tank at night, which is particularly interesting of you have a reef tank. Fourth, and probably the best of all, it makes your tank look amazing. It has a soft blue glow, and if done properly, has a beautiful shimmer effect. This book provides a step by step guide on how to make your own moon light from readily available components. The whole project can be done in a single evening and will add a whole new dimension to your aquarium.

Customer reviews for 'DIY Moon Light - Make Your Own!'

simple and effective

The D.I. Y. moonlight manual is a money saving customized way to add moonlights to your aquarium. The manual is very easy to follow and the results are fantastic even if you do not consider yourself handy. The end product you create using LEBOS D.I.Y. manual is a very pleasing nightlight effect costing much less than purchasing one or two moonlights from any major dealer or pet supplier. I highly reccomend all of Lebos manuals!

Extremely helpful

This is a step by step manual that is very easy to follow. After getting the parts together, it only took a couple hours to have a working moonlight, and I'm no electrician. And check out the prices on a "professional" moonlight. Well worth the price.
