Good introduction to some great Russian painters

Good art books with good reproductions are hard to find, but good art books on Russian painters are even more difficult. This book -- oversized at 13x9.5, 200 pages, medium to large to very large reproductions -- allows one to appreciate the genius of Russian painting in a variety of styles.

While books on Monet and Manet and Rembrandt abound, books on Russians are few -- even though Russian painting often rivals if not exceeds the skill of the better knowns. Although the title is a bit of a stretch as many of the works treat water as a secondary element, the reproductions are some of the best I have seen. I purchased my copy through Hamilton Book at $15.
