Good power, but doesn't hold up
I bought this mixer as a replacement for one my daughter melted and tried it out for the first time tonight.
Initially things went well, and I liked the power that it offered, though the low speed is a little faster than I usually prefer. But towards the end of the recipe, the mixer began emitting a burning smell and then a bit of smoke. I was mixing a pretty thick batter, but it was still a batter, not anything nearly as thick as a cookie dough, and it was a batter that was handled easily for years by my little Betty Crocker mixer. I thankfully managed to make it all the way through the recipe on the lowest speed, but I know the mixer won't hold up to making it again.
This mixer just doesn't seem to be able to handle much resistance at higher RPMs. It would probably be a decent mixer for light duty, but to be honest you could probably find a sturdier mixer in a comparable price range.
I gave this more than one star because the features like the storage case, included attachments (I was looking forward to the whisk!), and range of speeds are nice, but after just one session with it, I'm pretty disappointed with its performance. A quality piece of equipment should last more than one day.

best mixer
Prior to this mixer I had used one that had been passed down from my parents. Although you can't go wrong with a mixer, I like that this mixer has different heads which you can switch out depending on what you are mixing. I recommend this mixer.

Portable mixer
Mixer has several beaters, comes in it's own case and rests om the counter top. Very pleased, thanks
