Perfect pancakes
We have only used this griddle for pancakes so far as that was the main reason I purchased it.
They turned out perfectly. It seems to get up to temperature qickly and heat very evenly. The non-stick surface was very easy to clean too.
Would highly recommend.

Great Heat Distribution
Our previous non-stick giddle was nearly identical in shape, size, and contruction. (I can't recall the manufacturer -Presto?) The old griddle was die cast aluminum with the "heat tape" pressed into a serpentine channel cast into the underside.
The underside appearance of this new West Bend griddle is the same but the serpentine "heat tape" is fully encapsulated in the aluminum... probably inserted into the die cast tool prior to injection of the aluminum.
I suspect this is why the West Bend griddle has superior heat distribution.
Probably like many dads, I use the griddle for pancakes every Sunday morning. My wife uses it throughout the week. We both agree that to date, this is the best griddle we've owned.

Plastic handles and drip channel damaged
The griddle came with the plastic handle broken off. I returned it--return policy is very good, Amazon emailed a postage-paid label for the US Mail. I got a replacement and this griddle had a crack in the drain channel and I returned it for a refund. Very disappointed with the quality, thought that West Bend was a reputable company. Made in China, not very sturdy plastic used for handles and rim.
