Thoroughly bummed out!!!!
I did so much research on the tea kettles that Amazon offers before I purchased one. I had an old Russell Hobbs that I loved and died after a good six years. I love the look of the Chef's Choice 685 and was pleased with other reviews so I ordered it on Christmas eve and it arrived the following Monday. I went shopping the two days after Christmas and saw so many beautiful kettles (on sale) but knew I had my own amazing and beautiful kettle on the way. Imagine my surprise when I plugged in my shiny new kettle and it didn't work?! I actually called Amazon and they could only offer me a refund because they are out of this kettle. AND, I have to get down to the post office to return it. Obviously, there are worse things but when you live in a city and are on foot it becomes a MAJOR hassle and inconvenience. I love Amazon and I love Amazon prime, but I hate the fact that I received a defective kettle when the problem is such an obvious one. It leaves me to wonder if Chef's Choice does not do any quality control. I am now in search of another Russell Hobbs!

Amazing!!
Amazon shipped it to me Christmas Eve morning like they promised and they delivered. It is not only beautiful but fast too. If your looking for a Teakettle look no longer I guarantee you will be happy with this choice. The minute I flip the one switch by the time I get my mug its already hot and ready to go..

best electric teakettle
Tried this after buying the similar cuisinart which seemed a little heavier metal but created a plastic taste to the water. This did not seem to add any taste.
