Excellent Purchase
I bought this for my 5-yr old daughter to help with her homework that she needs to finish within a certain time. Now we also use it to help with the last 15 min of getting ready to get out of home, and using this timer is a lot better than me constantly reminding her to "hurry up, or you'll be late!". In fact it helps the grown-ups in the family too. Instead of just promising ourselves that we will do 5 more minutes of email before we get up and get ready, we just set the timer. Great price too!

Polder Timer
This is an excellent little timer that does exactly what it is supposed to do. It is simple to use and has given me no problems. I especially like the fact that it can be set for more than one hour.

First one didn't work, replacement is great
The first timer I received must have gotten damaged in shipping -- didn't work at all. I was very impressed by Amazon's customer service, however, which sent a replacement that came the next day. The replacement timer works fine, and is just as convenient as I'd hoped. I really needed a vibrating timer for times when someone else is sleeping in the room where I'm working -- and this one is very easy to use. The fate of the first unit means this product is probably pretty fragile -- probably wouldn't withstand being dropped -- but that's the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5.
