Poor quality
My wife and I bought an Aquasana water filtering system a few months ago and I must say that it has not been a good experience. In fact since then I have decided to avoid anything from Aquasana. The device is not well made. Changing the filters is very difficult because the plastic nut that must be loosened and tightened is hard to grasp and tends to strip. After two filter changes our unit is useless because of this cheaply made soft plastic nut. Within a few weeks the unit leaks and the shut off valve stops working automatically. It sticks in the open position and must be closed manually. Recently we purchased another system from Puritec and have been much happier with it and with the service that the company provides.

Great water, easy to use - Just love it!
I've read all the previous reviews and am shocked! I've had my AQ4000 unit over a year and a half, have changed the filters, have high water pressure, and not one problem. Easy to install, maintain and no issues with the filter button, housing, filters, or anything. Only one issue is that the actual pressure that comes from the unfiltered water is too low to do dishes. My water pressure is very strong without the aquasana hose unit, so I know it's not that. We have two people in our house and don't use it by the glass. I fill up jugs (not the light plastic, but heavy plastic to avoid chemical leaching in to the water - glass is best, though), and make iced tea and lemonade by the quart, but the fill time is surprisingly good compared to faucet-mounted filters that are inferior as far as water quality and per gallon cost. No problem removing old or installing new cartridges and got the replacements for an excellent price right at the Aquasana web site. I did not join the water for life program. I get a reminder from Aquasana and it's cheaper to just do it on my own.

overall poor design
I bought this filter a year ago, and was disappointed with its design right out of the box. The tube is not long enough, the caps are awkward and very difficult to open and overall the design is very poor. The spout always falls/pops out, and so does the little screw that you pull on. Basically, the water tastes OK but not as good as my previous filter. It ends up being an expensive filter if you replace it every 6 months as they recommend and i would actually want to replace it more often as we've noticed the water tastes funky after 3 months. Not a good deal, I am buying a Crystal Quest filter to replace this one.
