Customer reviews for 'Soymilk Maker - SoyQuick Automatic Soy Milk Maker SDZ-4'

Absolutely fantastic! Over 700 batches and still milking!

I think my SoyQuick is the best! I really enjoy having home made milk. It is so quick and simple to use and I like that I can make a variety of different milks including raw.

I have had my milk maker for almost 4 years now and it works the same as it did the first day I bought it. I have been very impressed with the quality and flavor of the milk it makes and the fact that it works flawlessly each and every time is a big plus for me.

To top it all off the customer service is great. At first I didn't quite understand what the trick was to cleaning the filter cup. They gave me a few tips and suggestions and presto! A breeze ever since! They also gave me a few recipe suggestions for rice milk which was very helpful.

So a couple months ago I was snooping around the internet when I fell upon SoyQuick's new Premier Milk Maker 930P. The new features really sounded to good to be true. Although there was absolutely nothing wrong with my SoyQuick, I just had to order the new one. I was in total disbelief that my milk maker could get any better. So I have been using it just over 2 weeks and I am in heaven!! I am giving away my other one to a friend because my husband thinks I have a problem, I don't see the harm in having 2 SoyQuicks. I can now make 2 batches of milk at the same time. I don't think he gets it!

I just absolutely love my NEW 2009 Soymilk Maker - SoyQuick Premier Milk Maker 930P. I'm now making soooooo many different combinations of soy, rice and nut milks. No pulp, fast cleaning and the milks are the best. I highly recommend it! It is worth every penny and even though I already have a great machine, this new one is outstanding. Who knew the very best could get any better.

Great product!!!

I bought this, and tried my first few attempts to get the homemade soy milk similar to the store bought. When I first used it, the milk came out more like rice milk (very thin and watery). I finally found that having it grind only first, then having it run through a complete cycle (grinding again) worked like I wanted it to. Also, when you put the beans through the chute, do it when the head is not in the water. I would recommend this product, it is such a money saver (I bought 1 lb. of soybeans in the bulk section at the store for $.99/lb. and it made about 5 batches of milk), and you know exactly what is going into your milk. I use old glass juice jars to store the milk, and have not had a problem yet! You will not be disappointed with this purchase!

Works well; not quick to clean or tightly built

From starting with pre-soaked soybeans to finishing the cleanup is about 30 minutes, 13 minutes of which is the machine's processing time, during which the cook can prepare the next day's soybeans by picking over and soaking (it only makes 1.5 quarts/1.4 liters). Cleaning the machine head and filter basket is laborious and water-intensive. The head is awkward to hold and cannot be put down safely for a rest (a problem that could easily and cheaply have been avoided in designing it not to roll). The first time I washed the carafe, water became trapped in the base, which then had to be unscrewed, causing two tiny nuts to fall out and roll under the refrigerator--now it's detached but still works. Sealing the base against water would have been a reasonable touch for an appliance in this price range.
The soymilk is beany. If you've had inexpensive soymilk from an Asian grocery store, you'll recognize this product. If your expectations are conditioned by Silk, your nose may wrinkle the first few times you try it. Removing some of the skins after soaking helps, as does adding rinsed brown rice to the mixture. The machine does what it promises, but the buyer should not expect the flavor and texture of commercial soymilk, which also has a slight nutritional edge (richer in protein, but also in calories).
