Great while it worked
When I first got this product it worked great. Fried food would come out perfect and the digital controls were a nice touch (albeit a bit of a hassle since it FORCES you to set a cook time).
Unfortunately, I didn't get to use it too much before it gave up on me. Despite me always being extremely careful to clean the heating unit (which is attached directly to the control panel in an extremely awkward design that makes cleaning up a hassle), my fryer has essentially stopped working. Everytime I plug it in, the temp reading jumps all over the place and eventually rests on "Err" and beeps. This will happen several times until it decides to work. Then it will heat oil for a while and give up.
I've noticed several other people having problems with this unit and the control panel giving up way before a reasonable life, and it makes me wonder if I'll ever trust another DeLonghi product. Everything else besides the control panel is solidly built, it's just a shame the entire product is ruined by a crappy heating and control unit with a premature life span.

The best deep fryer I have owned!
My family is big on fried foods. We seriously use a deep fryer at least three times a week and have owned several. This fryer heats up super quick, clean up is easy and it has an automatic shut off. I have never had any problem with the food not coming out done.
