This undersink water filter system features a Doulton Ultracarb three stage cartridge combining the highly efficient filtration properties of ceramic with the enhanced water treatment properties of activated carbon and the heavy metal reduction capabilities of ion exchange media. First Stage: The first stage consists of Doulton sterasyl ceramic which provides genuine sub micron filtration. The cartridge reduces fine particulate matter, bacteria, cysts and turbidity. The incorporation of silver locked within the ceramic structure gives enhanced bacteriostatic and self sterilizing properties. Second stage: An inner core of activated carbon block removes chlorine and organic compounds. Third Stage: Ion exchange resin reduces lead and other heavy metals. A variety of dedicated fittings are placed inside the bore of the element to remove chlorine, bad taste and odor, pesticides, herbicides, industrial solvents lead and other heavy metals. All Doulton ceramic cartridges are bacteriostatic - that is, self sterilizing for bacteriological safe cleaning and handling. Lead and other heavy metal reduction. Love my CLEAN water

Man, if you like clean water, you have to get one of these. No gaudy faucet attachments looking ugly on your sink, this one fits under the counter. easy to install and works GREAT. water tastes so clean. better than any bottled water i've drank. All my friends say the same thing. The filter can be cleaned and reused. I've had mine for about 8 months, and still haven't had to clean it. Ceramic is definitely the way to go. Great price too.

good product but needs more literature

Product is good. Installation went pretty easy. Product lacked good documentation on what it filters. Had to contact company for the listing of its specifications. They sent me this via email very quickly. Nice product, but it would have been more comforting the water filtering specifications came with the product.

I would recommend ceramic filters over reverse osmosis, after having both. Water tastes better.
