Not sure it was worth it
I did tons of research on toasters before replacing our dead toaster oven. It was the first real toaster we'd had in 15 years as we've always gone with toaster ovens instead. Most of the reviews on this toaster were good so I thought it would be a good choice. While it is working, it's only been 6 months and already the lever on one side (left side when facing the toaster) no longer lifts up the toast using the extended mechanism. I will have to pay like $20 to ship it to an authorized repair place.
It does seem to take a long time for toasting. The toast is always uneven, from day 1. It is always darker on top than on bottom. I'm also a little perplexed why such a huge toaster has to have such small pieces of bread to fit into it.
I sort of wish I would have either just gotten a cheap toaster or replaced my toaster oven with another one. But you live and learn.
In all honesty, it's not a "bad" product, it's just not as good as I'd have expected for the price. I'm disappointed with the amount of cheap plastic used to make this expensive toaster.

Defective toaster...A LEMON
The Krupps toaster arrived quick. We tried it out upon arrival and were di
sappointed. The toaster has 2 levers with each lever operating to drop 2 slices of bread. The lever on thevright won't work.We have to manually hold it down on the first toast. After the first cycle it'll work and stay down as it's supposed to but when cold it will not work. The toaster is uneven in browning with the top half of the slices darker. The toaster is very slow.If the right lever would work I could overlook the other bad points. We could have sent it back but shipping charges precluded our doing so.We just write it up to being a costly lesson. We don't recommend this toaster.BEWARE!Ours is a LEMON.....
