Good products, questionable delivery method

Products arrived on time and in good condition, and work as advertised.

However, I have a major issue with how these two turkey fryers were delivered.

They were delivered in the showroom boxes, not wrapped, and placed on my steps in clear view of a busy street in front of my house. I was very lucky they were not stolen, as I was not home at the time of delivery.

This Fryer Is Fantastic!

After watching the videos of this fryer at the manufacturer's web site, I knew I had to have it. I finally received it and got to use it last night. Here's what I like about this product:
1. It sounds an audible alert once the oil has reached the set temperature.
2. It has a built in timer with audible alert.
3. The large size doesn't crowd food.
4. It has a convenient drain valve as well as the fry basket and hook and vented lid.

I only made french fries, but they were the best french fries I have ever made! Crispy, perfectly done, not some but all of them. With my previous fryer they would either come out too soft or too hard because it did not maintain temperature well. The temperature display was not visible during cooking because I was using the timer, but I suspect it does an excellent job of maintaining temperature.

Here's what I didn't like. This thing is humongous! It barely fits on my counter! I am 5'4". If you are small in stature, you may have to consider placing this on a sturdy bench in order to reach everything. The control panel is very difficult to see. It should have been placed at an angle or vertical to the fryer. It is completely horizontal and I have to stretch to read it. The outside of the unit gets hot. If you have kids be careful that they don't reach up and touch it. It didn't get so hot that it burned me but was hot enough for me to remove my hand quickly.

This is more of any annoyance, but I was frying shoestring french fries. Several fell through the holes in the fry basket and had to be fished out. In order to fish them out, I had to lean over the oil to do it which made me uncomfortable. This basket also doesn't drain oil out as well. I'm wondering why they chose a basket with holes instead of a mesh basket.

Overall this product is excellent and I think I'm in love with a deep fryer! Can't wait to make chicken and Thanksgiving turkey. I would not hesitate to purchase it again.

Luv it, but have a design suggestion for next generation...

Compared to outdoor propane cookers, this one is the "be all, end all" of
fryers. It is easy to use and relatively easy to clean. I have done whole chickens, chicken wings (10 pounds at a time) and two turkeys in the last three weeks! I strained the oil using a coffee filter and colander and was surprised that very little oil is absorbed by the meat.
I was able to get five uses out of my oil. I probably could get another use or two but it's getting a pretty dark.

A word of caution...be very careful to place the vent holes in the lid away from you when you open the fryer. I got a nasty steam burn on my wrist...but it was my own fault. Duh!!

A design change suggestion for the Masterbuilt company....since a lot of households do not have lots of counter space or an island and are not as tall as we would like...please have the control panel tip toward the outside so you don't have to lean over boiling oil to check the temperature.

Thanks for making a potentially very dangerous cook method safe to use indoors.
