Saltwater vs Chemicals
I like the fact that we don't have the smell and eyes burning from the chemicals. In everything we read about switching to saltwater, I felt like our challenges with algae and cloudy water would clear up using this instead of chemicals. But even after vacuuming a couple times, we still have to shock the pool, and the cloudiness has not cleared up. We tried a a clarifier, and that didn't do it either. So I don't know that this is the answer to everything, if you're having a challenging time keeping your pool water clear. However, that said, it has much more power than the filter generator that came with the pool, it's easy to setup, and I love the daily auto-timer, so I don't have to remember to manually turn it on every day.

saltwater filter
We are happy with the slatwater filter in general. We feel like it's a healthier alternative and it works fine at sanitizing. The water does taste a little salty but chlorine doesn't taste great either. The only thing we were unhappy with is that the description indicated it could pump 4,000 gals when in fact it only does 2,000. I think I may have bought a bigger filter and a seperate chlorine generator if we had known that. Then when I emailed the company about this they never responded.

when its working properly, its the best
turns saltwater to sanitizing chlorine, keeps pool crystal clear.
Problem is that the computer program that controls the chlorinator gets reset to zero if there is any power outage or brown out and you have to re-program it frequently. It desparately needs a non-volitle computer memory for this critical function.
