Description

The three stripe damselfish (Dascyllus aruanus), also known as the white-tailed damselfish or the humbug Dascyllus, is a popular fish with aquarists. The three stripes bold black stripes are separated by two broad white bands, with a small bar of white offsetting the clear tail. Three stripe damselfish inhabit shallow tropical lagoons or subtidal reef flats in the Indo-West Pacific, Red Sea, and East Africa. They often form large schools above thickets of Acropora coral, and feed on zooplankton, benthic invertebrates, and algae. Males invite females to spawn in their nests, then protect the eggs until they hatch 35 days later. This is a pair of silver and enamel dangle earrings. Master artisans paint each article by hand using solutions containing colored granules of glass. Next, they fire the pieces in a kiln to produce an alluring richness of color. They measure approximately 2.0cm by 1.6cm.
