For the romantics among you.
The ultra smooth Smooth Jazz saxman Kim Waters releases an album that will reinforce his reputation as one of the smoothest and most sensual sax around.
Produced by R&B singer Vesta Williams, this a typically relaxed set of Smooth Jazz grooves inspired by the music of Marvin Gaye.
The album includes two Marvin Gaye's covers, an excellent take on "I Want You" with Vivian Green supplying vocals.
"Distant Lover" is a nice, smooth interpretation of the Marvin song.
Nine more instrumental tracks including "Smooth Sailing", "Some Dreams Come True" and "Groove With Me" will appeal to Kim's existing fans and lovers of strong Smooth Jazz.
The music is very nice, intimate and soothing as always : the weak point is the poor instrumentation. As always.
Whilst Marvin provides the inspiration, this is still very much a Kim Waters set.
The CD debuts at # 1 of The Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz Chart, at # 12 of Top Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, at # 29 of The Billboard Top Independent Albums, and at # 200 of The Billboard 200 Albums.
